Pjanic: "Compliments from the romanisti, Juventus are used to doing well in Europe"

After scoring his first goal for Juventus on Saturday, Miralem Pjanic has been speaking to Tuttosport. After his home debut the Bosnian explained that; “It was important to play 90 minutes, I felt OK but I can do more. I’m happy about my performance and that of the team; we’ve made a great start”. He continued; “We will now assess how we can improve even more but I repeat we are very satisfied”. He then declared that; “After the game, I received messages of congratulations from my former teammates at Roma”.

    ROLE:
When the subject moved on to this preferred role in the team he replied; “It’ not a problem wherever the coach decides to play me, against Sassuolo I had more of a free role as Allegri asked me to search for spaces on the field but my position will change depending on the opposition”.

    CHAMPIONS LEAGUE:
Ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League opener against Sevilla, Pjanic declared that; “So far it’s been all about the league but we know we have to start well in the Champions League. Juve is accustomed to doing well in Europe but last year, the same opposition caused them problems and they have a great record in Europe too”. When asked if the departure of coach Unai Emery had weakened the side he replied; “I don’t know..Sampaoli is also a great coach and we would be foolish to underestimate them”.
