Perin snubs Donnarumma: ‘I’ll be Buffon’s heir’

Yesterday night, Mattia Perin gave Gianluigi Donnarumma a warm hug after Genoa’s 3-0 win over AC Milan. The Italian goalkeeper are on very good terms though there is still competition on who is going to replace Buffon at Italy once the legendary goalkeeper retires from football.

Italy national team coach Giampiero Ventura has recently said that the AC Milan shotstopper will be the future of Italy national team, replacing Juventus’ n.1.

Perin, responded to Ventura after yesterday’s clash.

“Ventura has only expressed his opinion. He believes that ‘Gigio’ is better than me, but I don’t agree. I am going to work hard to make him change his mind, I am the only one who can do that, it’s up to me now.”

“At the moment, however, there is no reason to talk about that because until Buffon plays, all the others can only stare at him.”

Perin returned to action one month ago after being sidelined for more than four months with a knee injury.
