Pavoletti reveals why he snubbed big money move to stay at Genoa
Scorer of six goals in the last nine Serie A games, 23 in 42 appearances with Genoa and two goals in two Coppa Italia games, Pavoletti is one of the best Italian strikers at the moment.
“I am happy for these figures, but one always has t rise the bar, that’s the only way to develop.”
On Sunday he’ll face Atalanta which is coached by his former boss Gian Piero Gasperini.
“I saw him last week during a meeting between managers and teams’ captains. We joked because off the pitch he’s very friendly, but I’ll try to beat him in the week-end.”
“Juric has been great so far, he did not rushed me into the pitch, he’s had patience. I was feeling ok against Genoa and I felt great against AC Milan. Juric knows there are some great players who can replace me.”
“Of course I hear transfer rumours, but I decided to stay at Genoa last summer. I had many offers, but I wanted to stay not because we are doing parties here, there is a serious project and I am happy to be at the club. I rejected big money moves and the club did the same.”
“It’s easy to remain dazzled by big clubs and big money and I am not criticizing who accepts the first offer being afraid that it’ll be the last one. I’ve always made the right decisions. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future, now I am only focused on Genoa and I am working hard to make our fans happy.”
