PAPER TALK: Former AS Roma boss reveals Totti’s longevity secret, Arsenal target extends deal with mega-release clause
“He [Totti] is able to see things before the others. He’s among the best players in the history of the game. He still has fun. That’s what football is about: it’s entertainment and amusement.”
“If I could, I’d gift him the Champions League. AS Roma have been his only club, that’s amazing. He has followed the biggest love in his life, but he could have won more.”
“Totti’s family is amazing. His wife and kids have helped him to find balance and this has given him a massive help throughout his career. Then, you know, a manager has to be ready for everything, mass medi makes everything more complicated.”
Meantime, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Arsenal target Elseid Hysaj is set to extend his contract with Napoli. The 22-year-old right back had been on Arsene Wenger’s sights last summer following speculations linking Hector Bellerin with a move to Barcelona.
Hysaj, a former Empoli man, completed a € 5 million switch to Napoli in summer 2015 and is now set to sign a new contract which will run until 2021 with a release clause of € 50 million.
