Nainggolan: 'We needed the fans, but they only cheered louder when Totti came on'
Speaking at a sponsor's event today, the Belgian international used the Giallorossi's narrow 3-2 win over Sampdoria as a good example:
"We saw more enthusiasm from the fans only after Francesco's entrance. I wonder if they couldn't have supported us like that in the first half, too, when we were losing 2-1.
"Instead, they started whistling at us, and it's not always easy to play serenely in those conditions. Obviously, Totti's arrival made us change gear, because the public is suddenly 2-3 times louder".
The good news is that the Belgian - who chose to stay in summer despite widespread interest - is confident he'll sign a new deal with Roma soon.
“I’d already decided to remain, I’m happy here, things will solve themselves because both sides are getting on well, we’ll find an agreement soon”.
