Liverpool’s quest to try to land Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia may just have taken a turn for the better with the news that the players agent, Jonathan Maarek, has told RMC Sport that his client will not be heading to Marseille in January.
 

The 23-year-old is out of favour with the nerazzurri and even the arrival of new boss Stefano Pioli is unlikely to herald a new beginning for the player who arrived from Monaco in 2015. Liverpool have been heavily linked with a January loan move for the Frenchman but his salary of around £80,000 a week has become a stumbling block ahead of a potential move to Anfield. His current market-value is believed to be around €31 million, a price that Marseille were reportedly more than happy to meet.  

Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez has become a concrete target next summer for Milan. La Gazzetta dello Sport confirms rumours that broke on Saturday afternoon that the rossoneri were preparing a shock move at the end of the season for the 25-year-old Algerian.
 

Incoming owners Sino Sports-Europe want to make big name signings next summer and the man who has just signed a new €6 million a season deal with the Foxes, is the name at the top of the list.

More Milan news this morning with Gazzetta dello Sport also claiming that the rossoneri are showing interest in Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin. The 27-year-old Frenchman looks set to leave Old Trafford and the pink journal suggests that Serie A could be a possible destination.

 

The agent of PSG midfielder Thiago Motta has told RadioGoal24 that his client will not be renewing his contract with the French giants. The 34-year-old’s current deal expires in June and a return to Serie A has not been ruled out.


 

Liverpool have their eyes on Jonathan Tah of Bayer Leverkusen. The 20-year-old has also been linked with a move to Roma (Corriere dello Sport).


 

According to Tuttosport, both Spurs and West Ham United will try to bring Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic to the Premier League if the 30-year-old Croatian decides to rescind his contract in Turin. A lack of regular game time has prompted the former Atletico Madrid frontman to consider his future and the two English clubs remain on alert.

 

Tuttosport also claims that Juventus scouts went along to watch the Holland v Belgium international last week to observe Manchester United playmaker Memphis Depay. The 22-year-old is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and the bianconeri become the latest club to be linked with a move.
