Paper talk: Napoli challenge AC Milan for top Serie A striker. Man City and Barça want Juve promise
Pavoletti is one of Italy’s best strikers at the moment having netted four goals in nine appearances so far this season.
Napoli need to sign a centre-forward who is also eligible to play the Champions League in February as Arkadiusz Milik will only return to action in five months time and Leonardo Pavoletti is Maurizio Sarri’s favourite player to replace the Poland striker.
Genoa, however, have already informed Napoli that the 27-year-old striker is only available for € 18m.
Meantime, Il Corriere dello Sport claims that both Manchester City and Barcelona want Juventus’ promise Pol Lirola.
The Spanish right-back is being loaned out to Sassuolo for the next two seasons, but is impressing in his first senior season and scored his first professional goal in Sassuolo’s 3-0 Europa League win against Athletic Bilbao in September.
Juventus, however, are not open to sell the player as the Old Lady’s right-backs Dani Alves and Stephan Lichtsteiner are both on their 30s and Juventus have already identified Lirola as their natural replacement.
