Tranquillo Barnetta will not be leaving Bayer Leverkusen despite being linked to Fiorentina, Aston Villa and Newcastle.

“I can’t see how these rumours came out since Tranquillo is still injured,” agent Francesco Moretti told CM.com.

“Hopefully, he will be back by February but clubs are aware of his problem and no one would buy an injured player. Next summer though…

“His contract runs out next June. However, we will consider all the options once he is fit. Bayer have the priority and I don’t exclude Tranquillo may renew his contract,” added Moretti.

“The relationship my client has with Bayer is incredibly strong so he would think twice before leaving the club.”
