Neymar was close to completing € 190m PSG switch last summer
Today’s edition of L’Equipe reports that PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi was ready to trigger the Brazilian’s € 190 million release clause last summer, offering Neymar a stunning five year, € 40-million-a-year deal.
PSG’s owner had personally talked to the player and his entourage twice. The first meeting was held in San Paolo, the second one in Ibiza, but Neymar has eventually decided to stay at Barcelona and extend his permanence at the Nou Camp, becoming the best paid player of the team after Lionel Messi.
Neymar won the golden medal at Rio 2016 with U-23 Brazil national team. He has scored six goals and registered nine assists in the first ten games of the season.
