Nesta: ‘Balotelli should blame himself for Italy snub’

AC Milan and Italy legend Alessandro Nesta has claimed that Mario Balotelli should blame himself for not being called to Italy national team by new coach Giampiero Ventura.

“He [Balotelli] should just blame himself for Italy snub.”

“He has had many chances. Sometimes he’s played well in the pitch, but he needs a different attitude. He needs to have the attitude that a manager want.”

“It is crazy to see a player like him left out of the national team. If that happens, he’s the only one to be blamed for that.”

Nesta registered 79 appearances with Italy national team and although he had never scored a goal with the azzurri squad, he was in the team that won the 2006 World Cup under Marcello Lippi.

Balotelli has 13 goals in 33 appearances with Italy national team, but he registered his last game with Italy in 2014 when the azzurri were eliminated from the World Cup at hands of Uruguay with a 1-0 loss in the last game of the group stage.

Previous Italy boss Antonio Conte never played Balotelli during his two-year reign.
