Napoli president De Laurentiis slams Higuain to Juventus as ‘nonsense’
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has told Sky Italia that rumours linking Higuain with a move to Juventus are ‘complete nonsense’.
De Laurentiis, however, is aware that Higuain is not going to be a player of Napoli next season, regardless his next destination. The player’s agent has already informed the club that Higuain won’t be extending his stay at the San Paolo.
Higuain’s current deal expires in 2018. He has scored 91 goals in 146 games with the club. Arsenal are also in race to sign the highly-rated Argentinean striker and Napoli have already shortlisted some big names to replace Higuain: Mauro Icardi, Carlos Bacca, Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are all on the partenopei’s shopping list.
Juventus could trigger the player’s release clause as the payment can be split into two instalments.
