Roma, Montella: 'I don't feel like a temporary coach'
The new Roma boss, Vincenzo Montella, has been officially introduced to the press today:
"I strongly believe in this team's quality. I consider myself really lucky and I accepted this job with enthusiasm and confidence".
"It is difficult to impose a system of play in two days. The best players must play in their positions where they can best express themselves. Everyone will have to accept my choices; I do not worry about the exclusions - added Montella -. The biggest problem of Roma now is a psychological barrier. I'm glad we are playing immediately and away, tomorrow in Bologna. The boys must get rid of this malaise".
The coach does not feel like a ferryman: "Honestly these things do not affect me, I accepted knowing that I work hard and be professional, then I do not care that you talk about another coach, that you talk about Ancelotti, I do not feel like a ferryman, as you know in football things change fast, you can not talk about tomorrow. Mazzone? I have done more benches and maybe tomorrow will be the first time I go to the bench happy".
On his predecessor: "I spoke yesterday with Ranieri, I called to thank him because I respect him and it is right to". Finally: "I wanted to thank the Sensi family, but I say it with sincerity. Then out of respect for the managers, I was contacted only after Ranieri resigned, I want to clarify this".
