Milan transfer chaos as Galliani freezes Mirabelli out
Last night’s defeat to Genoa may well have exposed a breach in AC Milan’s walls: the squad’s lack of depth. Losing 3-0 to the Grifone was bad enough, losing a number of players to suspension, injury and turnover. At this stage, without credible reinforcements, Milan may not be able to keep up this positive start.
This is why AC Milan will do their best to sign players in January. They intend to bring in at least one more midfielder and a winger to complement Suso, though recruiting a centre-back isn’t a priority now that Gabriel Paletta has been playing well.
But there’s a problem: despite having clear objectives in mind, Milan haven’t moved on any front, begun any negotiations or made any offers. Why not?
There’s confusion with the club, and despite being close to closing Milan’s sale, Adriano Galliani is still working as if nothign had changed, being the only reference point when it comes to market affairs, and still has a preferential channel to Montella, the Coach he picked.
This despite the presence of a new director of sport, who doesn’t even know what the budget determined by the Chinese will be, or indeed what Montella himself wants!
