Milan's Italian revolution: they now point to Caldara & Gagliardini
Milan’s desire to showcase the best young Italian talent is beginning to take shape. With the likes of Romagnoli and Lapadula already established in the starting XI, the rossoneri now have their eye on two more promising starlets from Atalanta, Mattia Caldara and Roberto Gagliardini. Milan has been tracking the two youngsters for some time but will face stiff competition from Juventus for their signatures.
Atalanta has already been in negotiations with the bianconeri, especially for Caldara. The Bergamo club has put a combined value on the two of around €20 million but the operation to take one or both to Turin is not yet completed. Roma and Napoli are also monitoring the progress of the 22-year-old Caldara whilst Milan look to have a more straightforward path ahead if they want to take Gagliardini to the San Siro; the 22-year-old has spent the last two seasons on-loan at Spezia and Vicenza.
