Milan: Richards farther. Napoli: plan for Vermaelen
As reported in the last days, AC Milan, who –despite the declarations released yesterday by 32 year old Philippe Mexes- are seeking a midfielder, are thinking about Manchester City 26 year old Micah Richards; but, as reported by the Manchester Evening News, also West Ham and Newcastle United are interested in the England international, whose contract with the Citizens will expire in June 2015. Moreover, as previously explained, the rossoneri seemed uncertain about the possibility to sign on permanent basis 24 year old attacking midfielder Adel Taarabt, actually on loan from Queens Park Rangers, despite the good performances of the Morocco international: as revealed to calciomercato.com by Sky transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the Lombard club’s Chief Executive Adriano Galliani will soon meet the player’s agent to obtain a discount on the transfer fee. Perhaps, Galliani himself has declared to be very happy of the players who have joined during the last transfer window, i.e. Taarabt himself and 28 year old center back Adil Rami. Also Napoli are seeking a defender, and one of their main targets for such position seems to be Tottenham 26 year old Thomas Vermaelen: according to Il Mattino, the azzurri midfielder Dries Mertens is constantly in touch with his compatriot; perhaps, another option for Napoli’s defense is another Belgian, Tottenham 26 year old Jan Vertoghen, but, in this case, the azzurri will have to compete with Zenit St. Petersburg.
