Milan, Espanyol want to keep Diego Lopez

Diego Lopez had arrived to Milan from Real Madrid where he had a solid first season but he eventually lost his starting place last season. Then Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic gambled and decided to use youngster Gianluigi Donnarumma as the starter even if he was only 16 years old. This decision paid off for Milan as Donnarumma is now considered to be one of the best youngsters in the world and the heir to the great Gigi Buffon. Donnarumma's development pushed Milan to loan out Diego Lopez, as they sent him out last summer to Espanyol in the Spanish league. According to the Spanish press, Espanyol like Diego Lopez very much and they intend to keep him with the club. They want to negotiate a price with Milan already in the January transfer market. Diego Lopez isn't in Milan's plans so a permanent move to Espanyol seems more than likely at this point of time.
