Milan: will it be third-time lucky for Calhanoglu?

Milan: will it be third-time lucky for Calhanoglu?

It’s a decisive month in the future of Milan. If there are no further problems, the new Chinese consortium Sino-Europe Sports should take full control before December 3. It’s for this reason, that incoming Sporting Director Massimo Mirabelli is already at work identifying possible transfer targets. Names such as Bazoer (Ajax) and Badelj (Fiorentina) have already been strongly linked and now Bayer Leverkusen midfielder and free-kick expert Hakan Calhanoglu, is also a major target.

Born in Mannheim in Germany but a Turkish national thanks to his parents, 22-year-old Calhanoglu burst on to the scene wearing the shirt of Karlsruher in 2011 before moving on to SV Hamburg in 2013 where he scored 11 times in 38 appearances. A year later he was off to Bayer Leverkusen where he has a contract until 2019. The rossoneri had the chance to take him at 16, though about taking him in 2015 and now could revise their interest in 2017.
