Milan cast-off Mauri set for loan: Genoa, Parma, Atalanta interested
We have reported numerous times on the young Italo-Argentine's role and future at Milan (see articles on the right). It has become apparent that he is not a part of new manager Sinisa Mihajlovic's plans, despite shining last season as Parma battled with honour in the face of impending doom, even scoring this wonderful side-footed finish to beat Juventus at the Tardini.
Mauri looked like the kind of injection the Milan midfield needed... but has found himself on the bench and frustrated. Though his entourage now wants a move away, today's edition of the Gazzetta dello Sport confirms that Mihajlovic wants him to go on loan somewhere, something he revealed in the Diavolo's pre-match press conference before crushing Sampdoria 4-1.
A possible shortlist of destinations has been brought up by the Gazzetta di Parma, which reports that former Ducali coach Roberto Donadoni would love him at Bologna.
Atalanta have a great central midfield, but could further enrich it with someone of Mauri's calibre.
Otherwise, both Milan and Genoa are working on prying Stefano Sensi away from Cesena: Mauri could enter those negotiations.
