Milan, Allegri: 'Our problems are not tactical, they come from individual errors'
In a press conference in the run up to the Serie A match against Lazio, Massimo Allegri, said: "I’ve always said and I repeat it again that together with the players we have to analyze our mistakes and learn from them regardless of the result. In this period, it seems to me that we get punished for all our errors.
So, what are the solutions?: "We have to exploit the characteristics of our players, therefore it would be important to pass the ball up the field quicker. The problem is that we have to play every three days and we have two players who arrived on August 29, therefore we’ve never had the opportunity to train as we would have liked, but this can’t be an excuse though. I belive that step by step with a bit of luck we’ll become a more balanced team. I think my plaers' fitness level is good and it showed also against Catania: the Elephants never got close to our penalty area in the second half. I’ve always been confident that this team could do very well, even before the arrivals of Ibrahimovic and Robinho, and I haven’t changed my opinion.
We have to improve in defense and it will take some time, we have to be patient. Milan have to earn victories playing well and we shouldn’t feel down because of getting only one point in two matches. Maybe we’ll win five games in a row and everyone will talk about an extraordinary Milan. Now people talk about a reborn Juventus, able to win the league title, even though the Bianconeri don’t have more points than us. We shouldn’t give way to despair because of our recent results.”
On the injuries and the attack:
"Flamini rejoined the team on Sunday, he trained with those who hadn’t play against Catania, while Robinho returned yesterday. He didn’t train much at Manchester City, he spent a week with his national team, he came back to us and again, he didn’t train much. We need Robinho, but there’s the risk that he gets injured if he plays two games in a row. We’re missing Pato, even though there’s Inzaghi who at the age of 37 plays with the enthusiasm of a youngster. He’s a great example to follow.
Flamini is doing well, he trained with the team, he’s available for selection. I hope Pato will return as soon as possible and Robinho gets into good shape physically, because we need everyone as we play every three days.
Robinho? We'll see how fit he is. Matches last 95 minutes and substitutions are important.
On Lazio: "Lazio are a good team, with skilled players in midfield and up-front, boasting four great defenders as well. They are well-organised and now very enthusiastic, too, following their victory over Fiorentina last Saturday. We’ll play an open match tomorrow, meaning that there will be a lot of space for both teams. We want to play a great game.”
