Messi: "With Luis Enrique it's more aggressive than Guardiola. The perfect match? Rome 2009
After his hattrick two-weeks ago at the Camp Nou against Manchester City in the Champions League, Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been speaking to The Sun ahead of Tuesday night’s return at the Etihad Stadium.
He spoke in-depth about the comparisons between current coach Luis Enrique and former boss and the man that will be in the opposing dug-out tomorrow, Pep Guardiola; “There have been so many changes. Each coach has his own philosophy and ideas and they try to apply them to the team. With Guardiola we played less on the counter-attack than we do with Luis Enrique but now I believe the team is more aggressive in the way we play”.
He was asked if he could pick out what he thought was the best performance he had been part of with the Catalan giants and he replied; “That has to be the Champions League Final in Rome in 2009. Sometimes you play so well that your opponent cannot do anything about it; that was the perfect match”.
