Matias Suarez aims to leave Andrelecht after Brussells attacks

Anderlecht midfielder Matias Suarez has revealed he wants to leave his club at the end of the season after the terrorist attacks occurred in Brussels on Wednesday.

“I am really scared about what happened”, the 27-year-old told El Chiringuito.

“Belgium is an amazing place to live in, but I’ve already talked with my wife and my agent and for security reasons I want to leave the country in June.”

Suarez’s thoughts are probably shared by some of his colleagues playing in the Belgian Super League, a situation which is pretty similar to what Shaktar Donetsk’s footballers experienced in summer 2014 during the Ukraine war.

In that occasion things went even worst for players as the Ukraine’s side home ground Donbass Arena was damaged by a number of explosions and lot of footballers requested to leave the club.

Just like Suarez, a former Napoli and Sampdoria target, some of the most promising European players are also playing for Anderlecht. Juventus have set sights on both Dennis Praet and Youri Tielmens, though the latter is also a target of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Frank Acheampong and Leander Dendoncker have also been linked with moves to Serie A and Premier League, while AC Milan are rumored to be interest in welcoming the services of former Sampdoria star Stefano Okaka.
