Speaking to the microphones of Cadena Cope former Fiorentina and Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez has been speaking about this time at Valencia. During the interview, he revealed the background behind why he did not join Inter but he began by stating that; “I decided to leave Atleti because I realized that more minutes on the pitch would give me a better opportunity of a place in the Spanish national team”.
 

THE NO TO INTER: - “I thought seriously about accepting the proposal of Inter but Diego Simeone did not allow me to leave. He convinced me that there would be opportunities in Madrid but then when the window closed I was never selected”. He continued; “There were things about him that I didn’t like but despite this, he is the best coach with whom I’ve worked with so far and I still have a great relationship with him”.
