Mancini: "Season has been excellent. On Banega...."

Inter coach Roberto Mancini has been speaking at his press-conference ahead of Sunday’s trip to the capital to face Lazio.

He was asked firstly, if the last three matches would in theory be trials for players to show they want to remain at the club next season. Mancini replied; “I believe the players have given me their best commitment from day one. We have to make the last three games count as we are still in the race for third position”.
Then he was asked about Ever Banega and whether he would be one of his summer reinforcements; “He plays for Sevilla right now so it’s premature to talk about next season. He is however, a player who has quality, technique and plays in his national team”.

Asked if Juventus were set to continue to dominate Italian football, Mancini explained that; “It’s a strong club who were braver than most when they built the new stadium. This has given them the financial muscle to buy the best players.” His Inter team has been compared to that of Atletico Madrid yet when asked why the nerazzurri still have their critics he declared; “Atletico have got the results and they have still invested in great players. It’s not easy in Spain with Real Madrid and Barcelona. My compliments to (Diego) Simeone on what he has achieved there”.

Asked whether he would make an assault for Yaya Toure, he stated; “I have no idea, it’s difficult to evaluate right now”.  What about Ljajic and Telles, would they remain at the club? “They are both players with great technical ability, especially Ljajic, who must do more. Telles can certainly help the team”.
