Manchester United: El Clasico battle for Martial
Reports in the UK media seemed convinced that Barcelona and Real Madrid will make summer bids for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial.
After Sunday’s claims in The Sun that the two Spanish giants would embark on another bitter battle to try to land the 20-year-old Frenchman, stories are beginning to emerge that a departure worth around £57 million could happen at the end of the current campaign.
The current European champions are thought to be in pole-position however, with their current play-maker James Rodriguez holding the key to any move. The 25-year-old Colombian is unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu and Los Blancos could offer the Red Devils a swap deal involving the two players.
Martial is struggling to hold down a first-team spot at Old Trafford and despite declaring his love for the Premier League club, a departure may be the best thing to ensure he is regularly considered by French national team coach Didier Deschamps to represent his country.
