Man United make shocking £180m offer for Barcelona star Neymar
The Scottish Daily Record have a heck of a bombshell for us: according to their sources, Manchester United are planning a record £180 million (€210m) swoop for Brazilian star Neymar.
Dogged by an investigation over his move to Barcelona, the former Santos man is to be part of a revolution in attack at Old Trafford, where Coach Jose Mourinho wants to replace elder statesmen like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney.
Despite signing a new deal in summer, sources claim that Neymar’s release clause has barely increased, and that he’s still not particularly happy in the Catalan capital. Then again, he smashed in 24 Liga goals last season, adding 12 assists.
Mourinho himself had scouted the 24-year-old back in his days at Real Madrid, and is very much sold on the notion.
Neymar would be a major boon to an attack that, beyond Ibra’s seven EPL goals, has only put five more together. Three of them have been netted by Marcus Rashford.
