Manchester City resume interest in Bonucci as Guardiola urges to fix defensive woes

Manchester City have resumed their interest in Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci, today’s edition of the Sun reports. Pep Guardiola is known to be a long time admirer of the 29-year-old defender who, however, is going to sign a contract extension with Juventus until 2021 in the next few weeks.

Bonucci has imposed himself as one of the best defenders in the world and has always been on top of Guaridola’s shopping list since ever though Juventus have never listened to any offer for the experienced Italy International.

The Serie A giants are not going to welcome any further approach of Manchester City for their defence star and Guardiola might be forced to look somewhere else if he wants to add depth and quality to his Manchester City defence.

According to rumours from Britain, Aymeric Laporte and Virgil Van Dijk are Guardiola’s alternatives to Bonucci. The Old Lady’s defender has picked up a muscle injury and is set to return to action in 2017.
