Man Utd transfer news: Godin linked with move, Ibra exit rumoured
Despite splashing big money in the summer to sign the likes of Erik Bailly, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the team is still struggling to find its own identity, play some attractive football and, more than everything else, win game consistently.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, another big name arrived at the Old Trafford last summer (as a free agent), had a great start to the season with six goals scored between August and September , but is now struggling to find the net of the goal, going through a five-game goal drought.
The Swedish ace is under contract with Manchester United until the end of the season, though the Red Devils have an option to extend Ibra’s contract for one more season. According to today’s edition of the Sun, however, the Old Trafford outfit are considering not activating the clause on Ibra’s contract leaving the former Sweden striker free to leave at the end of the season with MLS giants LA Galaxy that would welcome the 35-year-old hit-man with opened arms.
The defensive pack is another huge problem for Manchester United as Erik Bailly as proved to be the only centre-back that can live up to the level required by a defender of such a big club as Manchester United.
José Mourinho is said to be willing to trigger Diego Godin’s € 33 million release clause. The Uruguay International’s contract runs until 2019 and the Special One wants him to become Bailly’s defensive partner from the 2017-18 campaign.
