Klose: 'Italian defenders always hold on to you in the box'
Though he was part of the Germany squads that tried to talk down to Italy before losing to them in 2006 and in 2012, Miroslav Klose has decided to throw his two cents in anyway, speaking of Calcio’s, er, clever defensive style.
“Italian defenders grab onto you, and do it very well,” Klose told Sid, “that’s why you can’t stay still in the penalty area, you need to enter it from outide so that the referee can notice the holding”.
“If you don’t move and Chiellini pulls you to the left or to the right, then you’re trapped”.
It is frankly difficult not to credit his account. Either way, Italy’s defence has only been beaten once in this tournament. Germany’s… never has!
