Klopp: "I'm very pleased about Ferguson's comments. On Benteke....VIDEO
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has reciprocated the compliment bestowed on him by former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Speaking ahead of Saturday’s trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace, the German tactician stated that; “Please allow me to say that I like Sir Alex. I met him before coming to Liverpool and it’s nice that he has said something positive about me”.
Moving on to the weekends clash against The Eagles, Klopp was asked about the reunion with former Reds striker Christian Benteke to which he explained that; “Each player needs space to grow and prove his worth. Last year he showed he has the quality especially in the air but we made a decision and we must stick by this decision”.
The 25-year-old Belgian international had a wretched time at Anfield after his big money move in 2015, making only 29 appearances in all competitions and scoring just nine goals.
