Liverpool, Sakho "No longer exists" according to Klopp

According to reports in The Sun, Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will not play for the Premier League club again this season.

The 26-year-old has not played a single minute of action for the Reds during the current campaign and according to French journal L’Equipe, “No longer exists” in the eyes of current boss Jurgen Klopp. The Frenchman arrived for £18 million in 2013 from PSG but 2016 has been a year to forget for the player.

Sakho was given a 30 day suspension by UEFA for failing a drugs test after the Europa League victory over Manchester United and was sent home from the club’s pre-season tour for breaches of discipline. Klopp has dropped the player to the Under-23 team and now a January exit seems inevitable.

French side Lille have shown interest in the player but his heavy wage demands of £80,000 per week and who will foot the bill should a loan move be agreed, could have huge bearings on where he eventually ends up.
