Juventus’ flop Hernanes ruled out for three weeks
The former Lazio star’s season is going from bad to worse now as he was diagnosed with a first-degree sprain at his right thigh, which will force him out of action for at least three weeks, the Old Lady revealed in an official statement.
Hernanes pick up his injury during the first half of last Saturday’s Serie A meeting between Juventus and Milan with the Bianconeri manager Massimiliano Allegri who was forced to substitute him with the club’s mainstay Leonardo Bonucci at the end of the first half.
Allegri will probably have to do without Sami Khedira and Patrice Evra as well in the next vital Champions League game against Premier League giants Manchester City, although the recovery time of the two players have not been disclosed yet.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport also suggested the huge numbers of muscle injuries suffered by Juventus players throughout this season (21) would have been scrutinized with Allegri and his staff in a special meeting to be held in the next few days. The club, by the way, denied the rumor revealing that there is no reason to examine the situation with the backroom staff.
