Juventus boss Allegri takes responsibility for Genoa defeat

Massimiliano Allegri has taken responsibility for Juventus’ heavy 3-1 defeat to Genoa. Talking to Premium Sport after the final whistle on Sunday evening the Old Lady’s manager’s said: “I’m the first responsible for today’s defeat, even if the match can be resumed with just two stats: we committed eight fouls, they did 25 and when you suffer in physical terms, you are also very likely to lose games.”

“It was fair not to award us the penalty kick on Mandzukic and I told it to the referee, we didn’t deserve to get back on track and we deserved to lose today. We’ve lost three games so far this season, always after one Champions League clash. It can be no coincidence.”

“This defeat, however, could be useful. It will help us to keep our feet on the ground. I had nothing to tell the lads, they are responsible people and today there was nothing to say really. We still have a four-point lead over AC Milan, there are no problems.”
