Juve & the Pogba effect: A 72 million January transfer kitty
They were the main protagonists in the summer and now Juventus look set to be one of the major players in January too. The bianconeri want to satisfy coach Massimo Allegri’s hunger for Champions League glory and as Tuttosport claims today, thanks to the sale of Paul Pogba, they still have plenty of funds in the transfer kitty.
TREASURE TROVE:
The journal claims that the champions have €72.6 million to invest on new players and although it’s unlikely that they will spend all of it, their January targets are earmarked. The midfield is the area that needs to be strengthened with Axel Witsel still the most likely candidate. The 27-year-old Belgian international is eligible to play in the knockout-stages of the Champions League as his current club, Zenit St Petersburg, failed to qualify for this season’s competition. Other names in the notebook are James Rodriguez (Real Madrid) and Tolisso (Lyon) and for the attack, Andre Silva (Porto).
