Juve, Manchester United step up their pursuit of Porto midfielder
Manchester United have entered the race to sign Juventus target Hector Herrera from Porto. Spanish portal Fichajes has revealed that the 26-year-old has become a primary January target for Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho.
The Mexican international was high on Napoli’s priority list in the summer but their pursuit of the player ultimately ended in failure. With Juventus still looking to add to their midfield after Paul Pogba’s departure to Old Trafford, Herrera has been heavily linked with a move to Turin in recent weeks but now competition looks to be coming from England
It’s now believed however, that the player wants to test himself in the Premier League and is interested in working under the “Special One” in Manchester. Mourinho is set to return to his former club to try to secure his signature. The player, who joined the Portuguese club in 2013, will not come cheap with reports stating that any potential business will not be concluded for anything less than£20 million.
