Juve, it's got soul. But will that be enough?
Let's face it: in different times a tie at home against Bologna would be greeted with boos from the Juventus fans. But Conte’s Juve still enjoys trust and quite rightly so. Yesterday’s match was not successful in scoring, but if nothing else it confirmed that the team has a soul.
Down to 10 and at 1-1, the Old Lady has unleashed anger typical of big clubs who are not satisfied with small points, but want them all. The tenacity of their opponents and a bit of bad luck, however, prevented them.
If the game and desire to win are there, there are still questions. Some are about individuals. Juve is missing a top player that can win games by himself when it is needed. Del Piero is not anymore due to his age. Pirlo started really well, but still needs the attackers to invent the game. Krasic seems to be lost. Vucinic is usually a mixed blessing. In short, it lacks a champion like Ibra and yesterday we saw this.
The other question mark is on the overall value of this Juve. Tests with Parma, Siena and Bologna have been positive, but it is not known yet where Juventus merits begin and the limits of their opponents end.
By the way, at this time in 2009 Juve had 9 points and had already defeated Roma and Lazio. Diego was shining and Felipe Melo was a beast in midfield. Then we know how it ended. So easy on the ratings. Especially positive ones.
