Inter Transfer News: The three players who could replace disappointing Jovetic
The same goes for Mohammed Salah. Mancini wanted to bring him at the San Siro, but the Egyptian swopped Fiorentina with AS Roma and Inter signed Stevan Jovetic from Manchester City.
The Montenegro International has been disappointing despite an encouraging start to the season and Inter are already looking for his successor.
The Benamata have shortlisted three offensive players for next summer, but Napoli’s Dries Mertens and Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi top Piero Ausilio’s wish-list.
The Belgium International will leave the San Paolo next summer, given his lack of playing time under Maurizio Sarri this term. Scorer of eight goals in 31 games this term, Merten’s price-tag is believed to be around € 17 million, but Aurelio De Laurentiis doesn’t want to sell his star to a direct rival and rejected Wolfsburg’s € 30 million bid last summer.
Domenico Berardi is also a plausible option. Both the player and his agent have revealed it is not sure Berardi will join Juventus next season, even if Sassuolo and the Old Lady have a gentleman agreement for the winger’s trasnfer to the J Stadium.
No secret Domenico Barardi (seven goals and six assists in 24 Serie A games this term) is an Inter fan. He has already talked to Roberto Mancini and they’d both love to work together at Inter next season.
Sampdoria’s Joaquin Correa is another quality player, but he’s more like a plan C as Inter would prefer to sign Mertens or Berardi instead.
