Inter, Kondogbia speaks; "I want to remain but if things don't change..."
Fit again for selection but at loggerheads with de Boer, Geoffrey Kondogbia remains at the centre of the transfer market. The 23-year-old Frenchman is causing interest at Liverpool and back in his homeland with new Marseille boss Rudi Garcia also interested in recruiting his services. Add to this the fact that the nerazzurri may use him as bait to try to bring Marco Verratti back to Serie A from PSG.
So is Kondogbia willing to make a switch? In an interview with Chaine Equipe he explained that; “I remain optimistic and I must remain so. The situation is as it is and we must try to reverse the trend. A footballer always wants to play and it’s clear that if the situation does not change we will have to evaluate what to do. At the moment however, departure is unthinkable. It’s a pity because I had high hopes at the start of the season”.
The coming weeks are now decisive in mapping out the future of the midfielder and if the nerazzurri decide to make a change on the bench, the situation could change once again.
