Inter keep up pressure on Benfica goalkeeper Ederson to replace City target Handanovic
Inter are very much interested in signing Benfica shotstopper Ederson Moraes.
Respected Portuguese paper Abola claims that the 23-year-old Brazilian is considered the Nerazzurri’s transfer priority for the January transfer window.
Moraes has only played 18 league games for the Eagles, and is already considered to be a very promising prospect for the future.
Handanovic, for his part, has grumbled on more than one occasion about his lack of Champions League football, the 32-year-old also responsible for a couple of recent blunders that have hurt his already-fraught relationship with Inter fans. Recent reports have Manchester City chasing him, with Claudio Bravo hardly the solution at the Etihad so far.
Despite having played so little for the Eagles (Moraes joined from Rio Ave in 2015), Moraes is outplaying former Interista Julio Cesar in both Liga Sagres and Champions League games.
Then again, this jars with the Nerazzurri’s current Financial Fair Play deal with UEFA, which will force them to turn profits of €25-€30 million in the upcoming window. Buying from Portugal has never been a cheap venture, either.
