THE SAGA OF THE SUMMER:
Inter's quest to land Joao Mario has been ongoing since the final ball of last season was kicked; the nerazzurri first tried to acquire him on-loan via new owners Suning, who also own Chinese Super-League club Jiangsu. After these attempts failed, it was decided to ask Sporting Lisbon for an initial loan-deal with a view to a €45 million fee being paid next summer. Now it seems the end is finally in sight, Inter are ready to welcome Joao Mario to Serie A.
