FOCUS Like Perisic, Joao Mario deal may go down to the wire
After a strong summer transfer campaign, which has also seen Ever Banega and Antonio Candreva come to the San Siro, Inter's new owners consider Mario to be their Number 1 objective, and are hoping that agent and mediator Kia Joorabchian can work his magic.
What can Inter do to avoid Financial Fair Play? They plan to bring the 23-year-old Portuguese international in on loan, with a compulsory buyback of 45 million, but only if Mario makes a certain number of appearances.
It appears that this one will go down to the wire, much like last summer's relentless courtship of Ivan Perisic whose club, Wolfsburg, fought to the last bullet before letting the Croatian go.
The Nerazzurri do, however, have a backup option. Though Juventus are now focussing on Moussa Sissoko, the latter is more than just a reserve option for Juventus, or indeed for Inter.
Then again, Mario is clearly the man for Inter, in order to turn a good transfer session into an excellent one.
