Inter, from player to Primavera coaching legend. Here's Stefano Vecchi

Inter have made their decision; Frank de Boer is no longer the coach and Sunday’s defeat to Sampdoria was his last game in charge of the nerazzurri. With a trip to Southampton scheduled for Thursday night in the Europa League, Primavera coach Stefano Vecchi will take charge of the team.

Born in 1971, Vecchi is a former player who has served his time on some of the lesser known football grounds in Italy. Briefly on the books at Inter in 1991 (where he made zero appearances) he spent time at clubs such as Arezzo, SPAL, Pavia and Pergocrema before finally deciding to pass over to the coaching side of things.

Once again Vecchi served his apprenticeship at clubs lower down the Italian football pyramid until the call came from Inter in 2014 to take charge of the youth academy. His remarkable work there has seen offers flood in from outside but he has preferred to remain with the nerazzurri and continue to bring success to the junior ranks.
No he has the chance to stake a claim for the first-team post at the club with a successor to de Boer still not confirmed. He prefers to play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 and as another new era begins at Appiano Gentile, Vecchi has the chance to strike first in this latest managerial merry-go-round.
