Inter: farewell to either Melo or Medel
Sunday’s defeat to Lazio has ended Inter’s season and left coach Roberto Mancini heavily criticising his players. The nerazzurri will now begin to plan for next season with an assault on the transfer market.
THE NEED FOR A PLAY-MAKER
“There is something missing in the midfield, we have to make changes there” were the words used by Mancini in his post-match press conference, as he highlighted the performances of the two teams. The player he was referring to was Gary Medel comparing his performance to that of Lucas Biglia (a reported Inter target) of Lazio.
FAREWELL TO MEDEL OR MELO
They lack direction in midfield and the two players that Mancini was relying on to give them that direction, Medel and Brazilian Felipe Melo, have failed dismally. The end of the current season will see one of them bid farewell to the club as Sky Sports states that Mancini will look to make this position his top priority. Melo was brought in on a season-long loan from Galatasaray for €3.6 million, whilst the Chilean was bought from Cardiff City for €9 million.
