Inter, de Boer: His future is still at risk, five games to save his job
Thursday night’s narrow Europa League win against Southampton may have saved Inter coach Frank de Boer’s job for now, but the Dutchman is still not out of the woods just yet. Despite the 1-0 win, an outstanding display of goalkeeping from Samir Handanovic kept the scoreline in the nerazzurri’s favour and they face another tough test away to Atalanta on Sunday.
FIVE EXAMINATIONS:
According to this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport, de Boer has five matches to prove he is the right man for the job. After tomorrow’s trip to Bergamo, comes the midweek home game against Torino followed by a trip to Genoa to face Sampdoria plus the return fixture against Southampton. By the time the final whistle blows on their home game against Crotone on November 6, the pink journal claims that we will know for sure, the future of the 46-year-old. Should there be a change at the helm; Fabio Capello’s name tops the list.
