With the Andrea Pirlo trail going cold, Inter have reportedly zoned in on another playmaker: Lazio's Lucas Biglia.

According to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri would be looking for a loan till the end of the season, though Biancocelesti owner Claudio Lotito has already said no. Lazio don't just want to keep the Argentinian, but would be definitely against a loan, as they'd want to at least cash in on an eventual departure. Real Madrid are also reportedly after him.

In the meanwhile, Sporting Director Igli Tare has actually denied that Inter even made an approach to begin with: "Inter have never asked us for Lucas, and in any case we're not selling him in January, he's staying with us".

Biglia will turn 30 on January 30th, and is on a deal worth €1.4 million a year until 2018.

The former Anderlecht midfielder could be exactly what the Nerazzurri need to add some spark to that midfield. His return to action this season following injury saw him score three times for Lazio (twice in Serie A), though it's his creativity that interests Inter the most.
