    REPORT: Inter meet Mertens' agent

As well known, during the next transfer window Inter Milan will try to reinforce their team’s defense, also because their former captain Andrea Ranocchia –who is a target for city rivals AC Milan and for some English clubs- will probably leave. As reported by the Corriere dello Sport, the nerazzurri’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio has met in London the agent of Chelsea 31-year-old Branislav Ivanovic. Moreover, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Lombard club is also thinking about 30-year-old Ron Vlaar, currently without a contract and training with AZ Alkmaar.

Inter are also seeking a new right back, and tonight their executives will be in Brussels to observe Club Brugge 24-year-old Thomas Meunier playing for the Belgian national team against Italy. But, regarding their team’s flank, the nerazzurri need most of all a winger, and, as reported by the same media, they are keen on another Belgian player, Napoli 28-year-old Dries Mertens.

The Lombard club has made an attempt for the former PSV Eindhoven player during the last transfer window, but the azzurri’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis didn’t want to let him go. Now Inter could count on the fact that Mertens is getting no chances to play in Maurizio Sarri’s team, and could try to convince them also by offering him a higher salary.
