Ibrahimovic closes the door on Milan: "I don't return to where I've made history"

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been speaking to Walter Veltroni for GQ Italia. The Swedish striker was quizzed once more about his future and first up came the question of a return to Milan to which he replied; “I will say two things that are perhaps contradictory. The first is that you never say never and the second is that I don’t want to return to a place where I made history. I consider Italy my second home and Italian football is the most beautiful in the entire world with so much passion. Something that resembles the way I think of sport and perhaps life”.

Asked about his relationship with Pep Guardiola he explained that; “I am friends with everyone and have only fell-out with one person and that is Guardiola. I quit because I stopped enjoying myself now I want to keep learning. I don’t do what I do for the money, I have everything but I want to see if I’m still capable of being a winner, I never accept defeat”.

Finally, when he once punched teammate Jonathan Zebina whilst at Juventus he explained that; “We had a quarrel and I hit him. I was expecting serious repercussions but coach (Fabio) Capello remained silent then said what I had done had actually helped the team!”
