Gigi Simoni hopes history won’t repeat itself in decisive Serie A match

Saturday’s Juventus-Napoli will be probably a decisive game in Serie A title race as Maurizio Sarri’s side are still the table leaders, despite Juventus’ 14-game winning streak in the league.

Gigi Simoni knows exactly what it is like playing a decisive game against Juve in Turin as he was Inter’s boss in 1998, when Inter controversially lost 1-0 against the Bianconeri and Ronaldo was not awarded a clear penalty kick  by the referee Piero Ceccarini.

Simone has warned his colleague Sarri talking to Radio Kiss Kiss.

“Let’s hope it’ll be a great game without controversial moments as it happened to me back in 1998 with Mr. Ceccarini's mistake.”

“Juventus and Napoli proved they are the best teams of the league. Juve have been having a great comeback, while Napoli are a very consistent side.”
