Genoa, Simeone to Inter could push Juric to Madrid

Genoa, Simeone to Inter could push Juric to Madrid

Not only Pavoletti, Perin and Simeone Jnr; Genoa’s excellent start to the season has also throw coach Ivan Juric into the spotlight. According to reports on Primocanale Genovese, the Croatian tactician is being monitored by Spanish giants Atletico Madrid. The club from the Spanish capital sent representatives to the Marassi on Tuesday to see Juric’s side roll over Milan 3-0 to banish the disappointing memory of last weekend’s derby defeat to Sampdoria.

It’s now suggested that the 41-year-old could even be a candidate to replace Diego Simeone should he leave the club at the end of the season to head to Inter. Juric started off on the managerial ladder at the nerazzurri as assistant to then coach Gian Piero Gasperini who then took him to Palermo the following season. Last year he masterminded Crotone’s historic promotion to Serie A and apart from that defeat to their city rivals last Saturday, has guided Genoa into the upper echelons of the current Serie A standings.
