Gary Medel put up for sale by Inter, but he wants to stay
The Chile International’s € 3 million-a-year contract will expire in June 2019 and Inter have already put the 28-year-old midfielder up for sale as they are in need to free up cash to sign new players in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Copa America Centenario will be a great opportunity for Medel to show his qualities and for Inter to attract even more suitors willing to sign the Chilean holding midfielder. Selling him for € 5 million would allow the Serie A club to register an important capital gain (as they would also save money of the player’s salary), though Inter hope to sell Medel for somewhere around € 10 million.
The central midfielder, however, is not willing to leave the San Siro in the summer as he has recently told to Radio FM Tiempo.
“My Inter contract expires in 2019 and I want to stay there. Everyone loves me in Milan, from fans to technical staff and directors. I am really happy there, we play a good season but that was not enough to qualify to Champions League or win a title. At least we qualified for the Europa League.”
