The head of streaming site Rojadirecta, Igor Seoane, has been arrested this morning. The platform opened in 2005 and is followed by football fans all over the world but has found itself at the centre of an investigation after complaints from various pay TV sports channels including Canal + for copyright infringement. According to La Stampa, the site has a turnover of more than €2 million a year.
 

In recent years, the site has been blocked in certain countries (including Italy) but has always managed to re-start using a new domain. The amount of money involved with the organisation has now forced magistrates to intervene. This morning, Seoane appeared in court at La Coruña and at the end of the hearing he was arrested although sources have stated that this wasn’t for investigations carried out in recent months.
